The GTA VI album holds 34 songs, on CD for 17 euro

Rockstar Games has announced the soundtrack of Grand Theft Auto VI. The Album holds 34 original tracks and arrives on 19 November, with the game. It also comes on CD and vinyl, unlike the game itself. The limited edition is already sold out.

Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album is made with Atlantic Records, Rockstar writes on its Newswire. The songs are original work for the game and not existing music. The album can be pre-saved on all major streaming services from today.

Six singles are out now

Six tracks appeared on the streaming services on 17 September. Rockstar names them in the same post.

  • Yung Lean, That’s It (feat. Future & Metro Boomin)
  • Travis Scott, RHYNO (prod. by Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo)
  • CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, PinkPantheress, Fred again.. & Etienne de Crécy, Sexy Magic
  • Morgan Wallen, Last Thing You Need
  • Rauw Alejandro, Macacoa 2000
  • Keith Richards, Bright Lights, Big City

Four of them posted a teaser in the art style of GTA VI on 15 September: Travis Scott, Morgan Wallen, Rauw Alejandro and Keith Richards. The record label Freebandz did the same, and Future features on the Yung Lean track. What the other 28 songs are, Rockstar has not said.

Three editions on the official shop

The album appears on CD and on vinyl. Three of the editions are sold only on gtavi-thealbum.com: a liquid-filled vinyl, a splatter-edition vinyl and a CD in a jewel case.

The CD costs 16,99 euro. The splatter vinyl costs 51,99 euro. The limited-edition vinyl costs 123,99 euro and holds transparent records filled with a blue liquid, in a heavier sleeve and with different artwork, Tweakers writes.

That limited edition was sold out on the day of the announcement. On the evening of 17 September the shop showed “SOLD OUT” on the 123,99 euro set, while the other two were still open for pre-order. Whether more will be made is not known.

Other shops get their own vinyl colours, each with new art: Blood Records, Best Buy, Walmart, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Target, Urban Outfitters and independent record shops.

A disc for the music, not for the game

The physical release stands out because Grand Theft Auto VI itself has none. Rockstar sells the game as a download only. Buyers of the album get a product of their own rather than a licence, Tweakers writes.

The streaming version arrives on 19 November. The physical editions are delivered a day later, according to Tweakers.

Rockstar says more about the music will follow, on the dynamic score and on the radio stations in the game. Grand Theft Auto VI appears on 19 November for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S.
