GTA VI moves to 19 November 2026

Grand Theft Auto VI is delayed again. The game is now due on Thursday 19 November 2026. Rockstar apologises for the wait and says the extra months are needed to finish the game with the polish players expect. The studio gives no other reason.

The game was earlier planned for 26 May 2026, and before that for the autumn of 2025. This is therefore the second delay since the announcement.

What Rockstar writes

The statement is short and signed by the studio rather than by a named person. It contains an apology, the new date and one sentence about quality. Rockstar says it is looking forward to players seeing the state of Leonida and a return to modern day Vice City.

There is no mention of what specifically still needs work, and no indication of whether the date carries any margin.

What this means for the rest

Rockstar has said nothing about the marketing plan around the new date, and nothing about an online version of the game. Whether the delay affects the release of other Rockstar titles is not stated.

Grand Theft Auto VI comes to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S. A version for PC has not been announced.
