The GTA VI shirt from Tokyo Game Show resells for 220 dollar
A free GTA VI shirt drew large crowds at the Tokyo Game Show. Visitors received one after watching the Extended Look at the PlayStation stand. The queue closed within ten minutes of the doors opening. The shirt now resells for more than 200 dollar.
The attraction on the PlayStation stand was a large screen showing the recent Extended Look, combined with haptics and surround sound. Everyone who sat through the presentation was given a limited edition GTA VI shirt and a separate VI sticker. Word that the merchandise was free spread on X, IGN writes.
On the first day open to the public the queue was closed within ten minutes because the stand had reached its capacity, according to footage shared by streamer Jake Lucky.

The shirt is black and carries the four PlayStation symbols in the sunset colours of GTA VI. The sticker set that came with it holds a PS5 logo, a PlayStation logo and the VI logo with palm trees in it.

Resold for hundreds of euro
It did not take long for the shirts to reach the second hand market. Copies were already being offered on the Japanese auction site Mercari during the business days, for more than 12,000 yen or roughly 76 dollar, Kotaku writes.
Prices rose from there. Dexerto says it checked several active and sold listings on eBay. A seller from Osaka is said to have sold two shirts at 219.99 dollar each, shipping and import charges included. That is around 190 euro, and therefore more than the game itself costs.
Every limited run sells out
The attention is in line with what other GTA VI merchandise has been doing. Rockstar Games has announced several products in recent weeks, and each limited run has gone quickly.
The limited edition DualSense controllers were sold out at several shops shortly after pre-orders opened, after which new stock appeared. The limited edition of Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album went the same way. Rockstar announced on 17 September that the soundtrack arrives on 19 November in several physical formats; the limited vinyl edition was sold out soon after.
How many shirts were handed out in Tokyo is not known, and neither is whether the shirt will be sold anywhere else. GTA VI is due on 19 November for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S.
